968 seats

Hello

I have a 968 Sport which has had Porsche logo's Recaros fitted in place of the standard seats. They look great in black leather and red alcantara but I'm finding that I just don't fit them. I'd like to replace them with standard seats. Do I need to find a set of manually adjusted 'comfort' seats from another Sport? Or does anyone know whether the wiring is in place under the carpets to fit electric seats from a standard 968 or 944?

Cheers

James

The sport has the wiring in place for electric seats, have a look under the seat, in the middle you will
find a cut in the carpet and beneath that you will find the wire with the correct seat connection on it.

Any chance you could take some pics of your seats? Don't know if you're interested in maybe part-exchanging??

LOL I was thinking the same thing! [;)]

i'll take some pics tomorrow hopefully. I'd only be interested in swapping for black ones I'm afraid though.

I know where there are a pair of standard black sport cloth seats for sale, and for the right price I will have a
pair of electric black leather seats that are unmarked for sale. Are your seats the hard backed buckets?

Thanks

i' ve a set of nice (actually they are f...ing hideous) 968 tartan mauve seats that i'm desperate to get shot of so if you wish to look at a swap along with a bit of cash which would allow you to recover my seats then id be happy to discuss further - trying to tone down my raging plum interior

yes, raging plums can be a problem.....

algib1 - I'll see how I get on looking for some black ones for now, thanks though.

Peter - I'd me more interested in the manual seats since I don't think electric ones were offered in the Sport - trying to get back to standard spec. I take it you mean the comfort seats, not the buckets from the Club Sport? If the former I'd certainly be interested. My seats aren't hard backed and as far as I can tell aren't a Porsche part, though they are embossed with the Porsche crest so I guess it's possible.

James

James,

If you still have the seats I'd be interested in a part-ex. Mine are black cloth standard Sport seats in very good condition.

Yes I still have the seats (they're still in the car!). No time to sort a photo tonight, will try and do so tomorrow. Whereabouts are you? The 968 is my only car so how we'd sort things logistically I'm not sure. But I'm definitely interested.

Well I'm in Staines so meeting up shouldn't be impossible. I've dropped you a PM, if you reply with your e-mail address I can send you some pics of the seats.

Cheers

I don't seem to be able to access my mailbox (insufficient permission) - do I need to do something to set it up?

Anyway, my email is alarthur at hotmail dot com.
