968 with interesting price

The price is realy taking the proverbial......£30K for a 968...?????? The previous owner struggled to sell it for £20K... Then again,, keep it up , who knows 968CS,s might even go the same way as the 964RS,s.???? ,,,,,, Maybee.??? Seriously though.. The car has done around 26K from new, BUT its had 2 engine rebuilds.?? Me thinks its got too much power for the block / head to take. Then again, if its been to EMC , im sure they will have made sure its now bullet proof... And it has got a LOT of high end performance parts on it...

Someone has taken a spanner and bolted bits on - they have also become handy with a paint brush - even if the car was Standard (ie as it left the factory) it would not be worth what they are asking! [;)]

How much ! If I had that kind of money I think I would rather spend 20K on Promax's turnkey 944 V8 and pocket the extra 10K [:D]

Best part of £50k spent on it in the last 7 years ! Lunacy !! If i were paying out £30k i'd find somethign other than that - those wanting a CS want one to factory spec, not something thats been messed with to the point it could be featured in chav racer magazine.

I can only echo that I also saw it was for sale for a long time at 20,000 and he wasnt keen on dropping the price and who can blame him it is lovely. A lovely car though which I would be very pleased to own ( at around 15 maybe) . If I was spending 30K on a Porsche it wouldnt be a 968 much as I admire them. Maybe it will go to a wealthy enthusiast abroad ? Regards Mas

i believe [please correct if wrong] that this car was for sale in essex, how comes it takes a short trip up the m1 then tarted up a bit to justify a price increase of nearly £10,000? a nice car without the black stripe but the price is crazy [imho] ,not in the same class as the yellow cs that was up for sale near brands hatch recently now sold i believe, cheers jason p

Just as one of our usual thread derailing asides, seems to me that the prices of good quality front engined Porsches do look to be drifting upwards somewhat. This isn't based on any scientific study but I have noticed that the better end of the 924,944,928 market is exhibiting some higher asking prices of late.

Those seat backs should be red if they were factory fit, sorry but i would buy a 996 Twin Turbo for that money everytime, loose all the parp on the bodywork.

It's only the paint job that ruins it for me. Shame the stripe was painted on instead of a removeable decal. Mechanically it sounds very exotic and has the brakes and suspension to match the supercharged engine. Specialist Cars have a reputation for selling the highest priced but best prepped Porsche around and with a bulletproof 1 year warranty you get a lot for your money (but it is a lot of money). It won't sell quickly, but it would be nice for the front engined market if there is a buyer out there at that price.

I agree, although there is a guy over on 968uk that has fitted an american SC kit that has worked out very well, gives a useful but not enormous power increase and hasn't cost the earth. Certainly cheaper to just fit a 951 engine and be done with it though? The 996TT would of course also benefit from all the other technology and improvements that come as part of that cars package.

Its not a lot of power though is it, especially relative to a 3.2 turbo the torque figure is especially disappointing given its a 3 litre Tony

"Frenchy-snip- sorry but i would buy a 996 Twin Turbo for that money everytime, loose all the parp on the bodywork. " My thoughts exactly, much as I do love the 924/944/968 series of car, £30K is far too much to spend on one when you can have a much faster 996 Turbo with 400+bhp for the same money. Besides which, there is no mention of the condition of the sills, or the belts and rollers and water pump, and no mention of the cams and cam chain condition. Or the clutch, which with all that power must be suffering by now.

Yes would agree with that too - once you get to £30k (if not before) there are all sorts of alternatives that make more sense than a pumped up 968.
