Only one photo per post - so here's the second (of 2) photos. I've reduced these from their original file size of ~5Meg to 200K for the forum, but if you'd like full size, PM me your email address.

Good meeting you too David - and well done on your "Best Front Engined Car On The Field" prize - well deserved. Get your exhaust tip order into Porscheshop quickly - I've posted here and on 968UK about the one I found, so their stock may dwindle rapidly!

Whose was the black sport? I didn't get to meet him and would have loved to compare the sport to the coupe - the CS is a bit too stripped out for my taste, and this was the first time I've been close to a sport. Oh well, next time!

That would be me and we did meet, you were showing me the corrosion at the top of the front screen on your car, similar to what I had fixed on mine last year by Specialised Paintwork in Theale - top quality but not the cheapest.

A fifth 968 (metallic green cab) did arrive half way through the day but he left quite soon afterwards and I was deep in conversation with the R19 posse in the tea tent so missed him. R19 took first and second in the modified concours btw [:D]

I have a stainless steel Janspeed exhaust on mine and have been meaning to ask people about what product to use to polish to polish the tailpipe. Any suggestions?

Cheers

James

Duraglit? That's what I use (admittedly on chrome, but I bet it would work on SS).

Oops - I've been told many times that, with my advancing years, the second thing that goes is the memory - now what the *** was the first!! I thought our 4 cars looked splendid, mine was probably the worst of the 4 courtesy of that bit of corrosion and the little dings on the rear wings and window frame. Still can't believe the one quote I've had for repairing those 4 little items - £1134+VAT! Second (and possibly third) opinions will be sought.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day out, and definately one for next year's diary.

Regarding metal polish, the one that always sticks in the memory is Solvol Autosol - but that was cleaning the chrome on my father's Mk 1 Cortina GT a year or 40 ago. Autoglym do a metal polish, and the write-up of Smartwax Blue-B-Gone is impressive. I've not used any of them recently, but I'm sure someone on here or detailingworld will advise.

Good meeting you, look forward to the next instalment.

Cheers

Chris

I too was there - can I offer up my '68 related 'photos?
