Can anyone help me with this?
The air conditioning on my 98 Boxster has stopped working and an independent specialist (Ninemeister in Warrington) has advised me that one of my condensers has corroded, leaked, and hence lost "˜gas'.
As there are two condensers (one in front of each radiator in each front wing), and they are likely to corrode at the same rate, I have been advised to replace both.
As I have been lucky enough to get two new condensers on Ebay at a resonable price I will replace both. Question "" other than re-gasing the system by an A/C specialist, is there anything I should be aware of before attempting the change the condensers myself?
I have been advised that if the system has leaked, the "˜receiver / drier' (which I understand absorbs moisture from within the A/C system) should be replaced. I haven't dismantled the car yet but believe this is located close to one of the condensers. Any views on this?
I would welcome any thoughts.
