Mark,

Just like to say that it was nice to put a face to the name (Just bought the Boxster DVD Guide by Pete Morgan) I am having a problem with my alarm. When i set the alarm the horn beeps once and the interior light illuminates and then goes out. The alarm appears to set ok, the car is locked and the red light flashes on the dashboard, all boots and the armrest are definately closed. As a club do we have access to one of the specialists for a prognosis?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Dave

has the stereo been changed to a non-porsche one? I know the later models alarms could "sense" if the radio was not connected and would honk once to alert you - a great sense of annoyance to a friend who switched the standard radio out for a becker one with sat nav

Thanks for the reply, the radio is the std porsche cdr22. The fault has only just started happening. I will keep searching.

Thanks once again.

Dave

PS How is your 550 treating you? I am hoping to upgrade middle of next year.

The good thing about the DVD is that my bit is an "Extra" so I don't have to watch it [;)] [:'(]

If it's none of the suspects above, then any Porsche Centre or Independant with the PST" diagnostic should be able to tell you what is giving the "error".

It's probably something like a switch (as on the glovebox) not "making" anymore.

Greig,
Did your friend re-fit the radio with a bit of tape ove the area where the contact is? (Look at the old radio to see where). That will cure the BEEP [:)]
