2nd option .. change insurance company to one who does not require a tracker ?

If you decide you still wish to install a tracker, ask your insurance co is that S5 or S7 certification .. if they accept S7 you can go with the battery powered ones which are easier as you "install them" .. if its S5, its a pro install

Have a dig around on here https://www.thatcham.org/...curity-certifications/

981 Boxster Spyder - My insurance company have this year informed me that I must now fit a Thatcham Approved Tracker. Can anyone give a recommendation for a system / installer in the York area who will know their away around fitting a system on a 981 Spyder?

Is the car already fitted with a tracking unit ?

I ask as I recently discovered that mine is, albeit not activated and unbeknown to me some three years post purchase [:-]

OPC service said that all similar cars have the unit from the factory

If you do not need track day cover try Admiral for your insurance. have have just done my 2023 Boxster GTS they did not require a tracker and would only reduce it by £35 if fitted.

If you wish to stick with your company try GT detail in York, high end detailer but also has a specialist auto electrician who works for him

All my cars are with Admiral and none have trackers

Plenty of insurers out there that don’t require trackers so probably time for a change and you probably will also find a better price as well.
