Hi. A quick question.

Is it possible to upgrade the Bose 981 (2013) radio to a Digital radio? If so what is the likely cost please?

Thanks.

It is possible but to be OEM it would involve changing the PCM or modifying the one currently installed, installing the digital antenna and wiring and potentially a new windscreen, then activation and coding in PIWIS is required so not very easy.

There is another solution which is plug and play via the USB port, think its made by Dension, there is a video on Youtube featuring it on a Cayenne.

Whilst it may not be easy to add digital radio. Porsche do offer an upgrade to Online services, which allows you to use an app called Aha Radio to stream radio via your mobile phone. It's certainly worth a look.

Many thanks for the reply’s. I will look into these options.

It’s a little frustrating that my similar aged Peugeot Partner works van has digital radio but it wasn’t an option on my Porsche !!

I guess it depends on how stingy/lavish the original buyer was. It was specced on mine but I suspect it wasn't a cheap option.
When I say mine, the car I'm collecting on 23rd. [:)]
