On previous Caymans and other Porsches from 986 Boxster on, if you unlock the boot at either end it unlocks the doors but if you don't then open the doors it relocks everything after around 30 seconds to one minute and the lights give one long flash.

Hi
Have a quick question.
Found that if I open rear boot using button on key fob the car doors unlock too.
Is this normal?
Luckily I noticed when it happened yesterday as I had only popped back to car to leave a coat in boot and could have walked away leaving car open.

Thanks for reply. Tried unlocking rear boot and then leaving to see if doors locked but still open ten minutes later. Will speak to service department at OPC and see what they say.

They should be able to set just about any optional setting for doors etc. Some don't like auto door locking once rolling and have such things prevented. I've had one of the members program my windows to drop when I open the hatch, it makes it easier to close the hatch. Sometimes though the technicians don't know how much is available but for your door locking they should be ok.

I just had a look on my car while I had the PIWIS connected, and there is a coding option in the PAS module (Porsche Access System) for "door unlock on lid release". Mine is set to "active" which I suspect is the default setting, but it can be changed if required.

Hi

On opening my 987 boot by the remote the doors would unlock and then relock if i didn't open them. On my 981 the doors unlock but do not relock. I discovered this when i put my weekly shop in the car and then returned the trolly. On returning to my car it was still unlocked. I now have to relock before leaving the car.

Cheers

Tracy
