981 Side Vents

Does anyone else think they look a bit plasticy and naff. I looked at one at the weekend and thought they looked a bit cheap for a £50k car? Don't remember them looking so plasticy on the 987 or 986
 
I know what you mean, but they are deeper and more angular than on the 987, the same goes for the front inlets which can no longer be described as a grill since they only have one slat on the Cayman v's 2 on the Boxster. black on the S.
What concerns me more is there is no longer any protection against debris getting in.
 

They're painted on the earlier cars and, therefore, perhaps less prominent.

An option on the 981.

Ah, that's interesting . They really put off my wife. Didn't help that the car was manual too. Might keep looking then
