Hi all

my 981 suspension is very firm and jittery, It feels like it’s stuck in ‘sport’ mode. I took another one for a test ride and it is so soft compared to mine. Any suggestions on where I might start welcome.

thanks
John

Hi John. Is the car new to you? Have you checked if you have PASM or SPASM or just the standard setup and did the car you drove in comparison have the same suspension set up?

I’ve had the car for 10 years and it doesn’t have pasm. The car I drove also didn’t have pasm so a fair comparison. I also had both front springs replaced a year ago.

Hi John,

That sounds rather odd, especially if it’s something that has happened suddenly?

Check all the tyres carefully - pressures, treads and sidewalls - and if they look okay I think that you should get the car on a lift to inspect the suspension to see if a component has failed … spring, damper, elastomeric mount, etc.
