Who keeps their car in first gear for several seconds when accelerating hard? In most situations 1st gear is almost irrelevant because a Porsche pulls away quite happily in second. Many years ago when competing in autotests in an MG Midget it became apparent that setting off in second was often quicker than having to snatch a change from 1st to 2nd, it was more important to keep your hands on the steering wheel. PDK is the way to go but since you don’t have that just adapt your driving style avoid wheel spin.

My manual 981s has been specified with PRM (Porsche Raddrehungs-Modulationsvorrichtung) which is a proportional control device fitted in the driver’s side footwell that is operated by the driver’s foot and allows the driver to modulate the amount of power delivered from the engine, which helps to control wheel spin. PRM can be operated in all forward gears (not just 1st) and reverse.
