Hi all,

I've only just joined this Forum, having been living in the aircooled and 944 forums for many years. However I bought a 986 3.2s in September and it is being converted into a race car.
The cage is in, the Gaz Coil-Overs and Pagid brakes are going in this week. Haven't sorted the seat out yet, and Fire ex will be left as late as possible so the service date is December and beyond season finish.

I've put 18" rims on it with Dunlop DZ03's on . The old Turbo Twist 17" rims are on fleabay item#115084429898 ideal for winter tyres if anybody wants them.

I will be running the car in Classic Sports Car Club modern Classics series, so I will post on the forum any meeting details as and when.

Cheers Gerry

I hope you will detail the car's mods and your adventures through the year. I have hillclimbed for 30 years, have a Boxster too, could be my next hill cat after the racer I currently have.

We have so far stripped out all the seats carpet etc. (to go on fleabay) and welded the cage in. underneath we've changed the flywheel for a TTV Singlemass lightened steel jobby, a Helix paddle clutch new cover and release bearings, a KAAZ LSD, set to about 60%. Stainless Steel decat exhaust. The brakes are upgraded to Pagid RS29 pads with new O/E Discs, Aeroquip lines. The suspension is GAZ Gold coil-overs EMC Springs and new coffin arms , dropping the car to 120-150mm ride height (We will adjust to suit when we get some track time) Inside we've going for a Sparco Sprint seat and a OMP steering wheel 6 point harnesses Tecnica OMP for use with the HANS device. We have rear boot mounted ali catch-tank and transponder in the front boot.

I found a hard-top on fleaybay and bought some 18" Revolution ZF01 8" fronts 10" rears with Dunlop DZ03's.

I'll try and get some pictures loaded if I get a sunny day.

Gerry
