Hi Folks, not usually posting on the forum but I would like a bit of help if possible!
I have owned my 986 3.2s for 9 years its a 2004 tiptronic.
I have not been driving it as the current Covid conditions, but have used it to go for food shopping!
I noticed that the dash on my car has gone a bit strange, the M & Auto gear selector is fine but the indicator lights on the dash do not light up.
My cruise control has stopped working and my onboard computer the same, yet the odometer all ok. I have no current faults on my durametric code reader, everything is ok. I have recently renewed the battery but installed it as per instructions.
Any thoughts would be great fully accepted, hope to hear soon!

Is the battery fully charged? When you replaced (and you said as per the instructions) was it disconnected for any length of time? Was it okay after the battery change?

My first thought was low battery - it causes all sorts of odd faults. Second is (and I've learnt the hard way with my 987) if the battery is disconnected for any length of time the car resorts back to factory ship mode, and functions stop working and have to be recoded by Porsche. To be clear I've not researched if the 986 is affected like this

Hi Chappell, thank you for your reply.
I have replaced the battery with a Varta as standard equipment, it is on a battery tender. I dont think thet it is the battery, ive checked the fuse's too. It' just a bit strange as i have removed the dash and all the warming lamps are led's so nothing to change.
I have checked the dash board connections too!
still no joy, i may have to bite the bullet and see a porsche shop.
