Hello

im sure this subject has probably been done to death before so apologies!

I'm just in the final stages of a full restoration to my Boxster S and need some tyre advice.

The previous owner has fitted cheap Landsail budget tyres:

Fronts - 225/40/Zr18
Rear- 255/35/ZR18
these tyres are not N rated and I'm unsure if these are the correct size fitted?
Can anyone recommend a good N rated tyre for my Boxster and if someone can confirm the tyre sizes I have currently fitted are correct? I'm having the car 4 wheel aligned so may as well get the right tyres fitted.

Thanks in advance

Neil

Richard,

This was the conclusion i was coming to. I presume I can fit 265's on the rear in replacement of the 255's? The wheels are 18".

Thanks,

Neil

Yes, I believe you should do that, assuming you have the 9J rear wheels.

I looked back to the 2004 tyre approvals, and it also quotes 265 rears on 18x9J wheels. The wheel size is cast into the wheel on the back of the spokes, or on some models it is cast into the wheel on the outside, either side of the valve,

You're absolutely right - 265's at the rear. My bad (as the youf of today say)!
