Is it that they are corroded (common - especially if the car is put away after washing, without taking for a brake "drying" run)?
Or is it that they estimate they might need replacing sometime before the next service (maybe...[&:] )?
Or have they actually failed an MOT?
Order the disks and pads
Fit them yourself using this website

Very easy job even for the totally inexperienced, and won't take you more than 30 mins per wheel.Or give it to any local garage to do.
Total cost £256.74
Saving yourself £843.26
I think its just a case of re-branding, I can't tell the difference.

LOL! You see - it IS worth joining the club [8D]
The cost saved on the parts should cover a significant part of the membership fee, throw in a discount on servicing as well.... and it's a no-brainer.
I think most OPC's honour the discount since the agreement with the club this year.

I've ordered from ECP.
Rear
2 x ZIMMERMAN Rear DISC Sport - Cross drilled PN 104330629 - £53 ea
1 x ATE Rear pad set - PN 101330175 - £43
Front
2 x ZIMMERMAN Front DISC Sport - PN 104330619 - £59 ea
1 x TEXTAR Brake Pad Set - PM 101330160 - £42.50
Are these reasonable alternatives to OPC supplied kit? Its all ECP provide as options and i've chosen the most expensive.
Or should i stick my nexk out an get some brembo kit from elsewhere!
Can anyone identify anything else i should need?
Thanks
When you start the job it might help to get a couple of small g-clamps to help push the pistons back into the caliper if you can't manage it by hand. Also remember to pump the brake pedal when done, and reduce the brake fluid level in the resevoir afterwards too. (I did this using a clean spray-top from a Windolene bottle)
Once you've installed the pads and brakes, read this link for bedding the new gear in
http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedintheory.shtml
And follow these instructions for the bedding in procedure.

Let me know if your sensors/cables are shot - you can have mine for the cost of the postage (or pick them up from the Camberley area) they are bit grubby but not worn.
I only did the rear disks & pads & couldn't believe the improvement!
