986 check engine light

Hi - I have a strange issue on my 2002 2.7 986, that none of the Porsche specialists I have been to, or even Porsche themselves
know how to fix.

After about 150 miles of driving, the check engine warning light comes on, telling me that an oxygen censor is faulty.
I have had all sensors replaced along with the maf, and had checks all over for air leaks.

I reset the codes, so that it goes away, and then lo and behold it comes on again after about 150 miles.

The car pulls like a train and has not got any other issues

Anybody got any more ideas
thanks

What are the fault codes as a matter of interest?

Having gone to all tht trouble, did they check the wiring to the sensors, and the O2 sensor relay?

For the battery, yes I already tried that. When you disconnect the battery it resets the fault codes. So it ran again for about
150 miles before the light came on again.

I cant remember what the actual code says but it is - bank 2 - before the cat

I think they checked the wiring to the sensors, and the O2 sensor relay, but I will check with them on that

thanks for your help
Ian

The code number(s) would be useful, and I could look it up in the Diagnostic Manual. Depending on what kind of fault it says (ageing, lean/rich limit, etc) it gives you the troubleshooting process.

Hi Richard - I will get another reading of the exact code - but I remember it was 'aging' - hence I first went down the route of
replacing the oxygen sensors
thanks
