986 Rear bearing replacement

Guest

All,

My baby was in for a service yesterday. Nothing major, infact more than happy with the service (PCT in Coventry) and got 15% for my PCGB membership! They collected and delivered my car to work, resolved my annoying screeching wiper issue (wrong blade was installed [8|] needed a curved blade! Although thats what the Halfords ready reckoner sold me!) Oh and serviced the car as directed!

However, the guy that delivered her back said the rear OS bearing sounds a little 'off'. I agree, now i can hear it. So i'll replace the bearing. Does anyone know of any instructions to guide me in the correct direction...

TOOL PANTS, i know you'll come good!

Thanks

Ant

Had one changed at OPC in January. I started a thread on this then which you can go back to and read. Incidentally how many miles has your car done. Mine had done only 28.5K.
I have read the instructions and you need a big torque wrench for the hub nut. Someone wrote on here recently that he changed his in an hour. The OPC charged for 3 hrs. Labour was 236.25 (after discount at 25%) plus 37.80 for the bearing all plus VAT.

Shes done about 30k. Have all the tools, perhaps i'll pull the wheel off and take a look...

Are the instructions in the previous thread. How high a torque wrnech do you need, I've got a 60-200 NM is that enough?
