986 S gearbox out - what other jobs?

My 2004 Boxster S 986 failed it's MOT on brake line corrosion, which has meant my mechanic has had to drop out the gearbox to replace them.
I've already asked him to change the clutch whilst the gearbox is out.
Is there anything else you would recommend?

I would have thought the IMS bearing (if not already done) to the aftermarket one from the USA and the rear crankshaft seal (if not already done in the past).
A failed seal will be obvious once the box is out, the IMS no so obvious.
Lots of info available on google on the IMS change and the external differences in design so you can identify what is in the car.

Absolutely sound advice , that's what i did with mine

Your single race bearing is a standard size. I would advise simple like for like replacement. Clean out the IMS tube at the same time. A handful of OE seals and screws are required. NB Special tools are required which your tech may not have.

New driveshaft flange bolts are often overlooked but needed.

Refresh all the exhaust sleeves and gaskets too.
