986 'Simple Tweeks'

A change from the recent vogue of uploading shots of the new 987 boxster... what 'simple tweeks' are recommended for my 986 boxster?

Mr Tims has advised to get the snorkel off but after 2 attempts I have got nowhere...once I sort this out I will venture onto the k& n airfilter...

and finally... no onboard pc or ac (saving on weight of course) but can i activate the OBC either fully or partly (temp indication only)?

Any advice... or shared stories on getting this damn snorkel off?

Don't wish to contradict Mr Tims, but there's not much benefit to de-snorkling unless you are going for a totally new intake system. If you are going K&N then just get the panel filter and insert in the standard position (complete with snorkle). A cone filter will only be sucking in hot, rather than "snorkled in" cold air. Cold air is more dense, so gives better power...

To take the snorkel out undo the nearside intake, then grab the snorkel and pull and wiggle.
It dose make the car sound better and with a K&N fillter you do get a bit more power

If you you do loose power it's not noticable. I did it for more / better induction noise on both my Boxsters with no adverse effects.
The K&N seemed to make no further difference.
