986 Steering wheel centre

Does anyone know how I get my 1997 steering wheel centre to have the 'coloured centre badge'? Any ideas? I see some later models have the enamel badge i want, some have a stuck on badge too. Which I would assume is dangerous in a crash on an airbag.I was maybe thinking of painting my steering wheel centre badge. Anyone had any experience? Lastly, looking for a original CD player for a 1997 car. Code not needed. But it must work. Cash waiting. CDR 210 or equivalent.

Thank you fellow Porsche heads!

The coloured badge was only on 2001 model year if I recall. (Maybe again on the later cars?)

You have got the right idea with not sticking one on - definitely not a good idea to have a pointy bit of metal fired at your head in an accident...

You could probably swap the airbag cover? Or obtain a complete wheel with appropriate badge from the likes of www.porsch-apart.co.uk .

A lot of people paint the wheel centre caps - if you are good with a 000 brush and have a steady hand it might look good on the steering wheel badge?
