986 Tiptronic - Brake Pedal revved the Engine...

Just finished up a 250-mile round trip over Christmas and my 986 S didn't put a foot wrong. That was, until I got home and parked up..

My neighbours had parked at slightly janky angles and I had to straighten up a couple of times to reverse in properly, which obviously meant I was doing in between Drive and Reverse a bit. My carport is a bit elevated so when reversing I have to lightly dab the accelerator and then brake.

On the last attempt at straightening up, I came off the throttle and onto the brake, and the brake pedal revved the engine! I immediately put the handbrake on, put it in Park, and then tried reversing again and it did the same thing.

Pretty scary moment as that could've happened with a person behind me. Goes without saying I won't be driving it unless it's to a mechanic or my local specialist.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? I've been having some gearbox gremlins (the old 'gear selector not engaged' issue that pops up on this forum from time to time), but I'm not sure how that would cause something like this. Aside from that issue, there's nothing 'wrong with the car'. No warning lights, drives great etc.
