986 twitchy rear suspension

can anyone help me out?
when at cruising speed the rear suspension tends to twitch side to side depending on bumps. now i thought this was because the tracking was out, so i had it re-tracked and i thought it was cured..
its basically just as bad as it was. Now i've got the car up in the air and levering bushes to see if they have play, but i can't seem to find any excessive play in any of them. does anyone know what on earth my problem could be??

How old and how many miles on the rear shocks? From what your describing it sounds like it could be a worn rear shock. It doesn't take much to make the car not very nice to drive once they start to fail, as the other side will be working overtime to compensate.
