when it is cold outside and I use the Boxster, the clutch pedal has a light squeek as you press it down at 'normal' speed, press it fast and no noise, same if pressed very slowly. It does it every time you press the pedal.
it does not squeak when coming up.
when the cabin is warm down in the foot wells, about 20C thesqueek stops.

i think this is a bush somewhere that needs a squirt of suitable oil or a spray of grease, even WD40,
the pivot shaft is hidden from view so I don't want to drown everything up behind the dash unless I can target the spray.
Anyone had this on their car at all?
thanks, Graham.

THink its a matter of getting down with a light and spraying WD 40 (With PTE) on the bearing

or guess does not need a lot as its penetrates

Good Luck

Indeed, just that the pedal pivot is shielded by the mounting bracket and I don't want to drown anything sensitive in the area.
bound to be an electrical part right by it!

I had this problem six months ago. I found that it was something to do with the clutch pedal spring which is attached to the driver’s side face of the clutch pedal arm and reasonably easy to get at. I sprayed some ptfe based dry lube on it which fixed the problem. I wouldn't recommend WD40 as I believe it can degrade some plastic/rubber materials.

Thank you Hardy, I have a can of that, so will get a mirror and give it a try.
Glad it can be this simple a fix!
Graham.

Bit worried about the comment on WD40 Everyone uses it on plastic - it also brings up headlights a treat

Simple fix is always the best

I expect I read something about its use in the marine environment where it can have a detrimental effect on some specialist plastic materials that are used. If you Google WD40 use on plastic you'll find it's not universally acceptable, even its use on headlights is not always recommended.
