987 / 997 RMS

I would hope that a replacement RMS on a 9x7 would be covered by warranty.

The reason for asking is this. Porsche will not admit to a design fault, so can not claim to fix a problem that doesn't officially exist. Therefore if they fixed the RMS problem how long would it take us owners to realise? In the meantime these cars will continue to have a dodgy reputation with respect to the RMS.
The forum has gone quite with RMS issues lately. Was it too much to hope that the problem had gone away?

The problem has not gone away.

We had hoped, via the Club, to get Porsche UK to do the decent thing and acknowledge the fault and cover the labour charge to fix it.However it seems our new contract doesn't go as far as giving people a fair deal. Every case will be dealt with on it's individual merit is the standard line which in many cases seems to fall rather short. However, there have been cases where cars have had it replaced under goodwill.

The reality seems to be that most RMS leaks are nothing more than a very slight weeping which doesn't actually require any attention. The line of possible clutch contamination I feel, is complete bullshit. So the OPC can advise at your next service that it's leaking and that's £725 to fix it please. Or if you have it, it will give you a feel good factor about the extended warranty.

All just IMHO of course. [8D]
