You have to contact the dealer your car is aligned to in terms of Sales or Service support, they will handle your application - it takes ages! but my 2011 987 Spyder is now a registered classic. You get a few goodies its initially free but you will have to stump up for continuing membership I think after year 2?

I have a 987 Boxster. Any idea how I go about it registered as a classic. Is it as simple as taking it to Porsche Reading?

I went into my local OPC (Porsche Centre Aberdeen) and spoke to one of the service receptionists. She asked for a few details and filled in a single sheet of A4 paper, yes paper with a pen! It took about 5 minutes and she explained I would receive a welcome pack in the post within 6 weeks. They also give you a set of Porsche Classic number plate surrounds for free.

membership entitles you to 15% off parts but only if fitted by Porsche, and 4 free wash and vacuums per year for 2 years.

Hope that helps

Yes a very simple process, take your V5C to your local OPC, and they will register it for you. I did my 987 and previous 986 at Hull OPC. You will receive a ‘parts’ book a few times too…

I contacted my nearest Porsche Classic Centre by email and completed an online consent form, but don’t expect a fast turn-round Chris. I started the process mid-March and only received my information pack last week! No sign of the Porsche Classic number plate surrounds as yet.
