987 Bumper.... How much!!!!!!!

In Manchester area. i noticed a few days ago my rear bumper on my 2007 987 has a depression underneath the bottom lip to the side of the exhaust . went to my porsche approved body repairer today who says it can't be pushed out successfully and i need a whole new bumper. there is no paint damage, it must have happened at very low speed and sensors missed whatever it is. anyway..... porsche approved blah blah tell me they will require £1002....yes you read it correctly £1002!!!!! for an indentation about 6 inches across that can barely be seen! £150 to reset parking sensors, 7.5 hrs labour!!! etc etc. No wonder we have a recycling problem if a perfectly good bumper is disregarded completely for this reason.

I do want it sorted and properly. Anyone have any idea where i might get an alternative quote/perspective.

Cheers.

I have seen seriously damaged bumpers fixed by smart bumper repairers so before you junk your rear PU it maybe worth researching that avenue for a second opinion

I have used one in the London area who I know does a lot of work for several BMW/Merc dealers and having seen the workmanship first hand I can understand why

Good luck [;)]

+1 to the above. If the paint isn't damaged nor the bumper cracked, I have seen almost unnoticeable repairs achieved with the careful application of heat and reforming.

the paint on my rear bumper is cracked but the shape of the bumper itself seems fine. Who did you use in the London area? Was about to start looking round for replacement quotes but if a good quality repair/respray can be carried out I'd be keen to give that a go if it saves a lot of money.
