987 Camera mount

I do quite a few track days and on top of this we are planning a trip next year to the Dolomites, now I normally use a windscreen mount for the digi camera, but I now want to try a mount that is fixed midway between the seats and fixed onto the 'roll bar' arrangement, problem is the 'roll bar' does not allow a clamp to be fixed 'through it' - only onto the forward facing elevation.
By using this type of clamp it can be left in the car and will hardly be noticable.

Anyone know of what type of clamp/mount that I can use and secondly - where and how can it be fixed.

Arrr! me hearty's, I wager there be a gem ripe for the picking.

Whoops. Or maybe yes.

I looked for a similar solution to you. I ended up with a simple Jessops G-Clamp. It has 2 angle joints to accomodate most eventualities and I clamp it neatly to the upright of either roll hoop (cabin side not engine side) so it protrudes out across the wind deflector.

I think it cost me 6.99. Not bad for a simple solution.

Cheers Tony, I shall pop into Jessops this morning and see what they have.

Sound like a 'simple and cheap solution' for a Porsche, is this a first ?[:)]

Tony - Jessops do not do that type of mount, it may have been discontinued.

Thought it was too good to last.[:(]
