Hello
This is my first thread on the forum and I thought I'd say hello and outline what I plan to do with my 2006 987 CS.
Its done just over 106K miles but as I had it machine-polished recently, it almost looks good as new. However many parts of the car are passed their best, most pressing of which are various elements of the suspension.
It seems the only place to go for this sort of thing is Center Gravity, so I've started a conversation about what to do. If I need to replace parts I'm considering upgrading. My car has PASM so will at some point add the DSC controller and 3-axis gyro to take full advantage. As the dampers need replacing the question is, standard-ish Bilstein b4s, b6s with eibach pro springs, or go the full monty and get the b16s? Slightly lower would be good, but as yet I haven't taken it to a track although it is on the cards. It will also really benefit from some new bushings and a good geo, (as well as getting rid of the horrid Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics I fitted, that was a mistake. Come on Michelin PS4S...)
No signs of scoring or IMS failure (touch wood) so I'm going to press on with the induction kit / IPD plenum / GT3 throttle body set and have it remapped try and smooth out the lower end torque dip if possible. DesignTek Valvetronic exhaust would follow, maybe needing another re-map. Has anyone fit lightweight pistons to their 987?
I'm also going to add cruise control, because its my daily
All of this is funds-permitting and will be done at a slow pace over the next 18 months or so. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
