Hi All,

Anyone had this I must be having bad luck or related issue ..Car stopped working outside garage (Lucky) when plugged into the PIWIS it cannot read the DME/ECU is DME/ECU broken or corrupt ?

Hi

I have had this a few times when using my PIWIS.

I find that removing the battery will reboot the control units and they then become recognisable again.

I would be inlined to check the wiring as well for a good supply and earth as well.

When usinf PIWIS if the control unit is just greyed out on the module has not been recognised and the battery trick may work.
If it has a "?" beside it - it possibly has a coding or programming issue - but this is unlikely if it has not been tampered with before.

Also check the fuse for the DME. If it isn't getting power, PIWIS won't recognise it, as Ian says. If the fuse is blown, and blows again if a new one is inserted, then there is a wiring fault in the engine loom.

Hi All,

Many thanks for the info...tried another DME/ECU and re set up car again now works fine,my MPG has greatly improved (ECU set up from Porsche not after market re-map)

Car is happy and back to life..again.
