morning all
my 996 is being sold and picked up this morning, later today I'm going to view a 2005 987 3.2S
it has had a £12k rebuild after an IMS failure, having spoken to the specialists and walked through the invoice they explained that the LN IMS retrofit was not possible on this engine due to the larger size, and that they replaced the entire shaft and bearing with a new item from Porsche. They also explained that they haven't had any problems with these later shafts and bearings from Porsche after fitting.
Can someone quickly explain or confirm if the above sounds plausible and that the later supplied shafts/bearings were more robust?
thanks
