987 Gen II radio?

I've just got my 2009 Boxster, 987 GenII, base model, no frills attached yesterday.
Got a few things sorted out, but the radio comes on every time you put the ign key in, even if the last time you used the car the radio was switched off.

Is there a way to ensure the radio comes on in the same state as it was last used?

Thanks, Graham.

No, not at all, the car is very basic, just uprated Xenon lights ticked on the options list.
There is a reference to this issue in the car's handbook, page 8.

"Switching Off"
Important:
If the CDR30 is switched ON, then it will be switched ON and OFF automatically with the ignition.

Not sure if this is referring to my issue or not!

Hi

I've just brought a 987 Boxster too but my one has a few extra toys including Satnav and it was the same for me things was staying on even after I had pressed the off button so I looked in the manual and found you need to press and hold the off button for a few seconds and it works ok and when I turn the key the next time to Satvnav stays off maybe this is the same for your White 987 Boxster or do as I did look in the manual that come with the car.

Enjoy your car. Yours Kevin.

Thanks, and I have come to the same conclusion too. The key word in the manual is 'hold' rather than 'press and hold' for a few seconds.
Several of the commands on the car are 'hold' (ie boot release) and they mean quite a long time, several seconds.

Will try later.

Graham.

Quick push mutes the sound but doesn't power down the unit. So the sound comes on again when you give the button another quick push or put the key in the ignition. Long push powers down the unit completely until you push it again.
