I was wondering if any of you knoledgeable people on here could help me with a roof problem that arisen today. My car is a 2005 987. As I was leaving work today I put the roof down as I always do when it's not raining/just above 10c. The roof was going down as I was moving when I heard a loud thud and the car telling me that the roof is not all the way down. The windows were still in their half open position. When I got home I tried to raise the roof again to no success. The metal cover moves but the roof will not come up. Also it makes a terrible noise. I managed to raise the roof manually when the metal cover was up (felt no resistance). Then lowered the metal cover with the button to another couple of bangs. Locked the clasp but the windows would still not come up and the car tells me the roof is still open. I have the car booked in at mu local independent on Thuraday. I was just wondering if anyone on here could give me an indication what the problem is.

helped me out. I had a nylon knuckle go on mine this year. Yours does sound a bit more serious though[:(]

As Dylan suggested, it was the nylon knuckle that was at fault. It also broke both arms. Altogether a relatively cheap fix. I am happy an relived!

Looking forward to Chatau Impney at the weekend now.
