987 Spyder 12 Year service

I'm coming towards my twelve year service for my 987 Spyder, Cheshire based. Does anyone have a recent feel for how much this would be at an OPC? on the assumption that no extra work is needed. It's still under OPC warranty so don't feel confident about stepping into the independent world until this has expired. No issue with good independents at all, my 964 was serviced by one for twelve years.

I was recently quoted around £1800 for the 12 year service on my Boxster by my OPC that with the Club parts discount. As I have posted on another thread I have very reluctantly had to part with my Boxster due to my advancing years. The cost of the upcoming service was not the overriding reason for the sale but it was a consideration as I have covered less than 2000 miles since the 10 year service which cost a similar amount.

I've seen the following for a 2011 987

6yr / 60k air filters, poly belt - £780 + VAT (£936 inc.) Brake Fluid - £110.00 + VAT (£132 inc vat)

plus the PDK which could be c£500+

12 year is massive so £1800 is about right maybe even £2k+ these days.

I got quoted £1600 for a 4 year so it may even be £2.5k now who knows !

Porsche prices are out of control now sadly. I paid £210 for my Golf Clubsports 6 year and it's all VW same as Porsche so the Porsche TAX is vry high now, £240+vat Ramp fee an hour vs my indy at £89 a hour

it's every thing needed on the big 6 years plus gearbox oil and full coolant change and plugs. Not sure why people ask here if staying with OPC, just phone your 2 nearest OP|C's and get a price, they will know better than any one here I am sure how to take £2.5k off you -)

12 year on a 987.2 S PDK in April. Everything except plugs (which we’re done last service) came in around £1300.

car is registered on the classic scheme. OPC gave 15% discount on parts and reduced labour rate (which I think I normal for cars over 10 years ok )

Would have to agree with Mr D OPC prices are out of control ridiculously outrageous high prices.

If you aint got a warranty why bother with OPC find yourself a good Indy at a much fairer price a lot of Porsche after a few years are using A good independent

A lot of good Indies are recognised .

A good Indy is a great thing. But they aren’t that common in my experience.

indy doesn’t always equal good.

And good typically doesn’t always equal cheap. (Couple of local ish highly respected Indy’s cost as much as local OPC for some things )

of course OPC isn’t guaranteed to be brilliant, it’s all about the hands on the tools rather than the name on the door but so far mine has been good.

my car is still under warranty so for now I am using opc for service, when that comes to an end I will likely pick and choose depends on the job that needs doing but with one labour intensive job on a previous car the good Indy who i would consider has been within 100 of the opc price and booked up for months ahead.
