987 Ventillation fan rattling

Hi Everybody

I took my car for a run this morning and when i turned the ignition on the ventillation fan made a noise like a cement mixer and little or no air was been pushed through the dash vents.

Turning the fan speed up made even more noise and some vibration - turning the fan off sillenced the noise.

The noise seems to eminate from the passenger side of the dash.

I assume that something has become detached or a blockage has occured, i last used the car around 7 days ago and it was perfect.

Any thoughts or advice muchos appreciated.

Have you looked in the front boot at where the pollen filter lives?

Probably not. You will have to remove the battery cover and the plastic panel next to it (drivers side). You will see the pollen filter .... what you see may give you a big clue.

Ahh, removed battery cover and passenger side plastic thingy (as that's where noise comes from) - couldn't see anything much - i'll try drivers side.
Many thanks
