991.1 CarPlay install

Forgive me posting what I’m sure has been asked ten thousand times. I’m just about to buy a 2013 991.1 Carrera S and would like to install Apple CarPlay. The car has Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation module which I think is needed from a quick Google.

My specific question is whether there is a favoured installation kit for this as I see several are available.

Then, is there someone that could install it in the Cheshire area?

Many thanks,

Steve

Few different ones available. However only 1 uses optical / digital for music. Particularly important if you have Bose or Bermester or value sound quality. Others use an analog Aux input.

So for the reasons above I used Mr12Volt. Latest version also utilises factory mic which is useful for call and Siri etc.

If you’re DIY minded, not too hard to fit yourself with online guides and YouTube videos.

Thanks, that’s good to hear as I have a Bose system in the car and bought a Mr12Volt kit today. I saw the videos and it does look straightforward, if a little time-consuming and (predictably) fiddly. I’m outside the UK for most of the year so won’t even get to it for some time, which may mean I’ll have to find a willing electrician.

I appreciate the reply.

Steve
