Happy 991 user but been over five years and have that itch we all get. Debating keeping it till the 992.2 but afaik no idea when thats going to hit (couple of years before I could get my hands on it I would imagine best case!) so debating upgrading to a 992 GTS 4 wheel drive - partly because I use it as daily driver all weather with kids in the back.

I obviously need to test drive but curious if others made similar type of switch, pros / cons or things to look out for appreciated?

I would chose 992 for the nicer cabin, improved performance/handling and upgraded technology. However, I would be looking for a GTS 2 rather than 4. It's a sharper tool, lighter with a better front end, is more economical and is a superior sports car. Engine over driven wheels means traction is not really a relevant factor 99% of the time and there's much less mechanical gubbins to go wrong too. :)

Regards,

Clive

I now have a 992 GTS after 4 glorious years with my previous 991.1 C2S. I didn’t get the chance to test drive a GTS before delivery but did try a C2 and C2S (Both superb IMO) and i have had no regrets as the car is fantastic.
I have the GTS 2 and personally don’t believe that 4 wheel drive is necessary but that‘s my personal opinion and preference.
A lot has been said about the ride quality and while it is firm my better half and myself find it more comfortable than the 991.
RE waiting for the 992.2 - I’m sure the new car will be great and if the recent reports regarding engine changes are correct then some diehards will be happy but for me the turbo charged lump really suits the car and I’ll not be in a rush to swap.
Best advice would be to test drive a few and decide from there.

I've had 992 turbo S, 992 GT3, 992 targa 4 gts. 991.2 Carrara S and 991.2 Carrera 4 gts. I found the 992 felt an appreciably larger car than the 991.2 and I preferred the interior and handling of the 991.2 so much so that I have gone back to a duo of 991.2 Carrera 4 gts and a 991.2 Carrara S. The 4 wheel drive system, i feel, is excellent at putting the power where it is needed. I find that both the 991.2 and 992 are equally just as much fun to drive on the road and cover ground much the same.

Thanks all!

Talking to an OPC this week they said 992.2 more news in Q2 this year with cars arriving Q4/Q1'25 and deposits being taken to get name on list.
