450PS for an extra €10k but not yet configurable in UK. I guess this is the GTS specification engine.

It's different Turbochargers, Sports Exhaust, Sports Chrono and some trim changes underneath the engine cover, so very similar to the previous power kit option for gen 1. No doubt this will find its way to the new GTS along with Sports Design Front Apron, Black PDLS, Black headlight washers, Black Turbo S Wheels and some GTS logos on the seats plus options for a GTS trim package with lots of Alcantara i.e. the same as the gen 1 991 GTS. It may not be far off the 991 Gen1 GT3 in terms of performance.

That's a lot of money just to be chipped [:D] lol ! So what extra internals does 10k give you?

The 991.2 Powerkit as stated above comprises new turbos plus a few extras. 991.1 normally aspirated Powerkit included different cylinder heads, cams and plenum plus a few extras.

I guess the 991.1 heads and cams were modified versions of standard items where their further design and engineering cost would be amortised over a smaller number of units but they would have a similar manufacturing cost to the standard "S" parts. The 991.1 plenum however was completely different and a far more complex multi-valved aluminium part which would have been more expensive to manufacture than the standard plastic item.

Looks like it's been removed from the Porsche Germany 911 configurator and it's nowhere to be found on any of the other sites so maybe the launch of the GTS has been delayed?

It's due for launch mid January now

I was told March and I see that the Power Kit option is back on the Porsche Germany web site with availability from June.

Ok sounds interesting I think it is a case of Porsche pushing the date back if they feel the gen 1 is selling well which it clearly is !

i just bought a gen 1 GTS arguably one of the best examples on the market second hand and another forum member Giles I think bought the other !

Which one did you buy? Colour/box/miles?
I gladly bought the lovely mint green, PDK, duck tail, RWD, 450miles one :)
i just wish I could post photos!
Now Sorn'd due to salty roads....
it will be interesting to see how the 991.2 GTS drives with the new geometry turbos.
I am yet to find out what mine is really like, just been pootling so far!
Cheers, Giles

I also have the rear wheel drive GTS as opposed to the 4 wheel drive

Have an interesting option PDCC which I haven't managed to explore yet but sounds fun

Stealth black, sounds great!
So the question turns to when do we think the 991.2 GTS will be available and what will it be like?! :)
Cheers, Giles

Giles I think early 2017 perhaps as late as march but I suspect an announcement of the car sooner

I believe it will be a fabulous car with the new turbo charged engine producing 450 bhp with a much easier job of increasing with the tuning potential of turbo charged cars

I test drive the 991 gen 2 careers S before buying my GTS and although I really enjoyed the drive I found it weird to have the engine behave like a turbo car with low down torque and whistling turbos ??

I think the the noise of the N/A car is so much better and the character of the engine where the engine builds slowly to a cresendo at the top end is more satisfying .

The other point to consider is that the new turbo car may potentially lose more money as the affecionados don't take to the new format

let's face it Porsche would never have gone to turbo charging across the range through choice !
