Introducing the new 911 (Type 991) Carrera and Carrera S Cabriolet

I am pleased to inform you that the new 911 (Type 991) Carrera and Carrera S Cabriolet models have been officially announced worldwide today.

The hood of the new cabriolet has been fundamentally revised and is made from three ultra-lightweight magnesium elements that are covered in fabric improving aesthetics and reducing wind noise. Furthermore, the new 911 Cabriolet offers draught-free driving and minimal wind noise with the top down as an electrically-powered wind deflector is fitted as standard and integrated directly into the body behind the rear seats, which also saves space.

In performance terms the 3.4 litre engine in the 911 Carrera Cabriolet delivers 350 hp and a 0 to 62 mph time of 4.6 seconds, while the 3.8 litre engine in the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet produces 400 hp and a 0 to 62 mph time of only 4.3 seconds "" these are exactly the same statistics as the new 911 Coupé variants.*

The new 911 Carrera Cabriolet models will be on sale from March 2012 and pricing is as follows:

911 Carrera Cabriolet £79,947 (inc. VAT at 20%)
911 Carrera S Cabriolet £89,740 (inc. VAT at 20%)
An order for either of these models can be made by placing a £3,000 deposit with our Porsche Centre. Included in the price is a Porsche Driving Experience at the Porsche Driving Experience Centre Silverstone and a three year warranty.

*Please note: performance, fuel consumption and emission figures are based on the 911 with a Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission
