I am just back from latest trip to Finland where I attended ICE FORCE S. I know I have been harping on about this for years but guys you should REALLY DO THIS. Why? This year I drove:

991 Cup Car
991 GT3 RS
991 Gen 2 Turbo S
991 Gen 2 Turbo
991 Gen 2 C4S
991 Gen 2 C2S

All the cars were brand new apart from the RS which had been used for the launch. The Gen 2 Turbos are not in the dealers yet.

I also had hot laps in a 918 and in the Cup car through forest stages at speeds I thought impossible. This post will concentrate on the Cup car and I will do others for the 918 and GT3 RS.

My 991 cup car experience started with a night time hot lap through a forest stage. I hope you enjoy these pictures:

Yes that is a 918 parked next to the Cup car. There were 6 cup cars altogether:

The cars are well shod:

Your car, pit crew and driver who has lost any fear of dying in a forest awaits:

The old bloke joins the crazy pro:

Entrance to the stage:

Having been shown how to really do it you then get briefed on how to drive the car:

No revs when you pull away unless you do a racing start or you burn the clutch out. Dont let the water temp go over 95 etc etc

You got that right so now some more:

Note the ABS has 9 settings depending on how confident you feel. You are encouraged to try different ones!! ( the Oh S**t moments start about now)

Several more slides follow then its out to the circuit:

First challenge for a fat old bloke is getting in!!

Big smiles follow:

You are then encouraged to really go for it. For me this was an experience I will never forget.

Posts on the 918 and GT3 RS will follow

Sounds like another brilliant trip, Bob. Some great cars and photos.
Looking forward to the next instalment. [:)]

And worth every penny in my book. If you can tell me where I can drive Cup cars, RS and Turbo S cheaply I will be there. It may look expensive but its great value for money

Looks great fun

Can you do IceForce S without doing any previous course (where can I read up about it please)

I run a 997 cup in UK racing, but not yet driven a 991 cupcar

You can get a bit more information here:
https://drivingexperience.porsche.com/en/driving-experience-winter/events-and-services/ice-training-level/ice-forces-special/ice-forces

Normally they insist you have some previous ice driving experience before letting you take part in Ice Force S as the stages can be quite long and fast so the offs can be spectacular if you get it wrong. However I know they have let people go straight to Ice Force S and as you have your own Cup Car and a racing licence plus other Porsches you may be OK. I suggest you contact them using the details in the link above.

If what you really want is some time in a 991 Cup car then they will tailor something for you. One of the guys in my group stayed on for an extra day and drove the Cup Car all day long but I would imagine that was not cheap as instructor, ambulance, catering, mechanics were there just for him as it was change over day. If you do decide to do it then happy to help if I can
