Hard to believe there is only 12 seconds between the C2S and the GT3 over 22kms, or whatever it is?

Indeed put the flashy road race tyres on the TT and it has the same time a the GT3.... so tyres make about 4 of those seconds.

No difference at all between the 991 C2S and the 997 GT3 if the launch presentation was to be believed

That I can believe with the trick suspension and extra oomph. I presumed those times referred to the 991 GT3?

Yes, Ralph's link is for the 991 GT3. According to 2012 figures the 991 C2S managed a 7.40 whereas it now can do a 7.37. At the time the 997GT3 was on a par with the 7.40.

Personally I've never been there to check the figures in mine....[:)][:)][:)] perhaps one day.

There's a helluva lot work going into producing these figures, with teams of engineers spending days at the circuit, optimising chassis settings, tyres, weather, driver training and so on.

Apart from bragging rights in the bar, I can't really see the relevance for people who will actually be buying these cars for driving on public roads.

Regards,

Clive.

I think Clive raises an interesting point, perhaps the 'Ring is more like a road than a race circuit like Goodwood. I'd bet the difference (seconds/mile) would be greater at Goodwood or a more stop/go track like Angelsey.
