Has anyone any experience of this Sport Spoiler Lip? I understand that it is standard fit on some 991s but if that is true I have not seen it on any.

Hello,

Yes I have been asking the very same question on PH http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=230&t=1347001&mid=32703&nmt=991+SPASM+Front+Spoiler

The answer is yes you can fit them (they are std fit to sports SPAM cars). You can buy the part for about £100 from your OPC, I have one on order and should have it fitted by next week....

Be interesting to see if it is more susceptible to scraping, let us know when yours is fitted. Quite fancy one myself, looks a nice upgrade.

Got it fitted today. Looks really good, I will take a few photos in the daylight tomorrow.

It is a bit closer to the ground, but at £100 odd it's a great upgrade V cost.

Tom.

Look forward to seeing your photos Tom.

Do you think the sport spoiler lip will have any aerodynamic effect or is it just cosmetic?

Try this:

It was only a quick photo and it doesn't show it that well, but it looks great. I will try to get a better one at the weekend.

No I had the OPC fit it (took about 5 mins). However I would recommend a DIY job unless you can get them to fit it for free, (it is about £100 fitting).....

I would guess it has "some" aerodynamic effect, but mostly it is a visual upgrade. I have PASM (10mm lower) and so far, no scraping anything.

I finally got around to ordering and fitting the sport spoiler lip to my 991. It cost just over £110 by the time the VAT was added.

It was relatively easy to fit and took me about 15 minutes including jacking the front of the car up to make it easier to see what I was doing. It's like most jobs, it's easy once you know how it comes apart. You don't need to remove any screws or fixings it is just a case of pulling forwards and down.

I am pleased with the result, it does look better than the standard item.

Definitely on the to do list, need to get a service organised so might try and get it done at the same time.
