992 Alignment of Folding Mirrors

I have a 992 C4S. With the mirrors folded and looking straight down the car from the front or the back the passenger side mirror is parallel with the body, however the driver’s door mirror is not parallel and looks like it has only partially closed. I checked a 992 C2S at my local OPC and the folded mirror positions were the same as my car so it looks like the offset of the driver’s mirror is deliberate but I can’t think of any reason why. Maybe some of you have not noticed this but once you see it it’s very difficult to not see it and it becomes a bit annoying.

If you see the offset on your car do you think it’s OK or something that needs to be investigated further.

I hadn’t spotted this anomaly until you mention it in your post, but after checking mine, it’s exactly the same, the drivers mirror when folded, does not fold as close to the door glass as the passengers. I can only assume its due to the fact the passenger mirror has to be angled more when in its normal position to allow the driver to get the correct view, and I think the mirror bases must account or this, which looks exaggerated when folded.
