992 Indicator/Repeater Failure

This is the third time this has happened to me ...

The front side repeaters/indicators on my 992 have failed for the THIRD time! I noticed the LED module hanging by the cable today (see attached images).

I haver now worked out how it happens - the rear retaining clip is pretty fragile (see image where it has broken) and the rear part of the repeater/indicator is partly exposed to the inside of the wheel arch. What appears to happen is an object (presume a stone) spins off the tyre and hits the indicator in this exposed area and the sheer force knocks it out and breaks the retaining clip.

It's not an expensive part (circa £55) but it's a frustrating design failure IMO. Anyone else experienced this?

Hello Rob,

I had this happen in the time I had my 992C2S. As you say simple fix, and in my case porsche replaced it under warranty. They sent it to my house and I fitted it as would have costs as much in fuel to take it back to the dealer.
