992 Register - Weekend in Devon.

992 Register - Weekend in Devon September 27th to 29th 2024

IMG_6971.jpeg

Enjoy a weekend of driving and sight-seeing tour of the West Country with the route taking in some of the finest roads in North Devon, North Cornwall, West Somerset and Exmoor National Park. The weekend with include a convoy drive on Saturday, Gala Dinner on Saturday evening and an interesting convoy run on Sunday over the moorlands of Somerset and towards home.

We will be staying at the Commodore Hotel, Instow and can confirm the venue is booked for the sole use of 992 Register members for the weekend commencing 27th September 2024.

There will be an optional convoy drive down to the hotel on the Friday afternoon for those members coming south on the M5, with a meet up at Taunton and a drive down to North Devon on some interesting B roads.

The cost of this complete package for the weekend is £395. This is for a room based on 2 people sharing. Those who book early will have the opportunity to upgrade their accommodation to a balcony room with estuary outlook or a GF suite with a terrace for a supplemental charge.

Interest has been high, the event is proving popular and looks likely to be oversubscribed, so we will be compiling a reserve list for late applications once all the available hotel rooms have been filled.

TOUR UPDATE

Bookings will be closing very soon as the hotel is now nearly full. There are just a couple of first floor doubles at the package rate at £395. This is the room for 2 nights, based on 2 people sharing, and includes dinner, B&B and pre-dinner cocktails.

The hotel is well appointed anyway, but if you're fancying a little bit of extra luxury, there's just one deluxe ground floor marine suite with estuary outlook and veranda available. Grab it while you can - it'll be well worth it! 😀

If you miss out on the first schedule, all is not completely lost as we'll be starting a reserves' list and with some time to go, there's every chance someone may fall by the wayside.

992@porscheclubgb.com for more info.

Regards,

Clive

Just a handful of weekends to go now before the off. 👍🏼

All participants should have received an info message this week. If you've not already done so, could you respond as soon as possible, please? 🙏🏼

If you've not received the message, take a look in your spam folder or email me direct lancerlot@hotmail.co.uk and I'll resend.

Impressive entry confirmed for our 992 West Country Weekend.

5 x Turbo & S
3 x GT3
7 x GTS
7 x Carrera

A 22 car convoy comprising these motors should prove quite a wow-factor for locals in the area.
Not long to go now! ⏳

Clive

Just a few hours to go now before our WOTY tour. Weather forecast seems to be mixed - cloud and showery. That's good as previously we've had all four seasons in one day hereabouts! 💨 Saturday is said potentially to be the best day. No localised flooding reported as yet! ☔
Regards,

Clive

22 Cars and 43 992 Register members descended on North Devon this weekend for some fabulous driving roads and great routes provided by our ‘man of the area’ Clive White, many thanks Clive, you did us proud.

We were extremely fortunate with the weather having glorious skies both days, which enabled all to enjoy the driving, the scenery and especially the socialising.

Thanks also go the Commodore Hotel Instow for the welcoming they gave us and the food, drinks and ability to enjoy ourselves during the weekend.

Some images have been posted HERE to the 992 Gallery on the Club Website, more will be added later together with a full report.

A brilliant weekend…….

Absolutely fabulous weekend great hotel, cars, company, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Cheers to Clive and Dave and everyone else involved in making this weekend happen.

Thanks to everyone who helped and supported this event and in particular those who participated. I appreciate it was a leap of faith for some with many coming from far afield to be with us for the weekend.

I should also like to thank our commercial partners - the hotel and the stops along the route for joining in with the spirit of the occasion.

I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It was pleasure meeting up with many new friends in the 992 Register and thanks to RS, David who gave us the the flashiest roadbook we've ever had on tour! 😃

Regards,

Clive

We enjoyed the routes you had chosen very much Clive, especially the finale over Exmoor - stunning views and decent weather!

The Commodore was definitely up to scratch and they have made a bit of a name for themselves with the Club, thanks to your introduction years ago.

David's excellent Roadbook will live on the Porsche memorabilia shelf now! Who needs Google maps when you've got that...
