Just thought I would share this - went to OPC to enquire price of exhaust tips - sit down - £179 each. Although they were overstocked on one side and beacuse of this could let you have one side at £179 and the overstocked side at £25.00 - get up. So not quite so bad
to replace the pair and absolute brill if you have damaged the side priced at £25.00. The part numbers are as follows:-
P993.111.251.52 - Sit down model
P993.111.252.52 - Get up model
Sorry not sure which LH - RH.

Mine came from the Hatfield OPC. This was some three months ago so I dont know what the current situation is re stock levels. I guess it should not matter which OPC you goto since I think these are not kept at the OPC but at a ceneral store (or Logistics Deparment) I think the correct term is now.

Thanks John - much appreciated. Have dealt with OPC Hatfield before and found them to be fantastic for customer service.

Unfortunately the excess stock is all sold out, so now prices have reverted back to full retail... :(

back to the drawing board i guess (or maybe time to bite the bullet!!)

Thanks again for your help!

Are you chaps after new (different) tips or are you after new ones because the originals are tarnished?

It's a simple process to renovate them.

Or even easier, take them off and hand them to a metal polisher. You'll get them back better than new!

Hey Asim... i'm actually after the oval ones for the 2s... but now that you mention it, i think i'll get my (standard 2s) tips over to a metal polisher to get them looking all shiny again.... good idea!

Hi Nik [:D]

In my experience definitely the way to go - get a pro to get them like new, then regular polishing (depending on use) to keep 'em looking A1!

Hope you're well. Haven't heard from you for a while over on the "other side" [;)]

Big ovals - lovely. There's a chap in the US that makes superb copies for a 10th of the £350 + VAT OPCs will take off your hands![]

yup - i got in touch with the guy in the US, but he makes them in large batches...

now, given how cheap they are, i wouldn't mind buying an extra 10 or so from him and then selling them on as/when anyone wanted them... but IIRC their minimum batch sizes are like 150... which would be slightly too many!! [;)]

really wanted some of the big ovals, but they're around £380 from the OPC...

will definitely get mine professionally restored - are the existing ones easy to remove ?

They tend to rust on a bit. You'll probably have to cut the bolt off (easy to replace with new) and then wiggle the tip (ooh err!) until it comes off.

Re big ovals, I have a pair from our American cousin which he sold me no problem, no mention of minimum batch size etc, all up including post (which incidently was less than a week), total cost less than $80, $40 + $28 post if I remember correctly.
I'm very pleased with them, no difference from the factory one, no problem with fitting, I found his name on Rennlist, look for group buy on tips. Seems to supply both types for normal and wide body.I'll have a look through my emails for his address
