993 Advice Required

Hi everyone,
New to the forum and currently looking to purchase my first 993. Very excited indeed !
Wondering if anybody can help with a few quick questions related to a Ocean Blue C2 that I am currently very interested in:
The car has been lowered using H & R springs, what is the general view on doing this and the effect on driveability/handling (it's got the turbo alloys too)
It is missing the carrera badge on the back - presume this isn't a big issue and relatively easy to fix.
Interior wise it looks great except for a very marked handbrake and what I think may be an aftermarket gear shift - I'd like to replace with original
parts if possible is this going to work out to be expensive ? It's a marble grey interior btw.
Any comments greatly appreciated.
Cheers,Tim

Hi Maurice,

Thanks for your comments - yes I have been into the buyers section and the information has proved to be really useful in my quest so far !

Any recommendations for PPI's ? The car is based in Essex.

Cheers,
Tim

I have just ordered those parts (in marble grey) - I think the gear shift has a slightly different appearance on the 4WD models.
From memory the prices were in the region of £120+VAT for the gear shift and £160+VAT for the handbrake.
I had a phone call from the OPC earlier to let me know that despite the system saying there was a handbrake on the shelf at Reading only the gear shift has turned up. And there aren't any in Germany either, so it is now going to be made to order. I anticipate a wait of about two months.

I have had a look around on Gert's site before, but I don't think he has anything in 'marble'.

Personally I prefer the look of the standard parts hence going to the OPC (and accepting that I will have to wait a while).

Thanks for the comments guys.
Alex - which OPC have you been using to source the parts ?
Is it a diy job or are they going to fit the parts for you ?

Krgds

Tim - I am using Cardiff OPC on this occasion (just happens to be convenient this time). It will be DIY fitment (servicing and major component changes are the only things I don't do). Rgds. [:)]
