993 Bodywork around Rear Screen Bubbling

Well my much loved 993 has what i think is a common problem. The bodywork around the rear screen has started to bubble.I did try the 10 year warranty with porsche only to be told that this only applies from the inside to the outside ?

Can anyone recommend a good reliable garage in our region to carry out this repair.

Cheers

The body shop which Strasse in Leeds uses does a good job, I don't know who they are so you would have to go through Strasse.
I know a good body shop near Leeds but it is a one man band who is very busy and unreliable, I waited for some work doing to my last car for 3 years, and in the end never got it done.
There is a chap at Elvington near York who has a good reputation for his work on Porsches. I don't know who it is, but Mark (Supersport) who posts on here was going to get him to do some work on his 911.
Sorry I cannot be more help.

The bodyshop in Leeds that PH is speaking of is Parkside. The number is (01132) 718282. They did my 993 a couple of months ago and have done another two cars off the back of people seeing mine, since. Top notch work, really good people and very reasonable on price.

Hope it helps!

is it round the screen rubber seal ? if so presumably its a screen out job ... ouch expensive .I daren't look at mine

The bodyshop Oliver gives details of is the one Strasse use, not the unreliable guy I know.

Ah, good spot! Just read that post again. Yes, I was speaking of the one Strasse use. If the screen needs to come out, Andy at Parkside has a glass man who did a good job replacing mine when it was cracked.

I also have heard this .

He perfectly colour matched a Coral Red bumper --- it can't have been easy !

The bonnet isn't such a good finish, but I don't believe it was done by him .... unfortunately.

Andy Fisher in Skelmanthorpe - first class and knows all about Porsches/Ferraris etc.

If you want a number mail me.

Bodyworks Elvington - Mark is a top man. Did my front scuttle (similar problem to rear screen), front wheel arches and rear wings including stone guards - spot on!

Hi
I need some work doing on mine. How much did this set you back mark?
i need a rear wing doing caught it on the gate post and i have the bubbling around the rear screen too
its 30 yrs old so i guess its what happens

Hi phantom,

Sorry for the delay in responding.

He painted the inside edges of the front wheel arches (stone chips etc.) and then wax oiled. Repainted front scuttle with the screen in and resprayed the rear wings completely and supplied and fitted stone guards.

Can't remember exact total but around £600. for a first class job. He's doing the rear bumper on my BM next week as well.
