993 Brake Pressure Light

Hi all, new member here and proud owner of a 993 C2 Coupe. I’ve owned the car for 3 months and had no issues, but today as I applied the brakes the Central Warning Light came on along with the Brake Pressure Light (2 arrows facing each other in a circle). They both remained on until I got home. When I restarted the car they were off but after a few minutes of driving they come back on and stay on! HELP!

I am somewhat confused as I thought the brake pressure system was only on C4’s (as per the manual!). I’m aware that it was an optional extra but as far as I can tell my car did not come with this fitted (it’s not on bonnet sticker or on Certif. of Authenticity).

Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, any tips to fix or help to solve (or rough idea of cost) would be gratefully appreciated!

All pads and discs are in good condition, and there’s plenty of fluid. I haven't noticed any difference in drive or braking. THANKS!

Good evening , can you post a picture from the car or the owners handbook illustrating the light that came on?
regards,Christian

Hi Christian, Hopefully I've managed to upload the image correctly!

Hi, posted this reply in the tech articles section.

Not sure if this will help but I have a c4s and suffered intermittent ABS, ABD and brake pressure warning light faults, infrequent at first, then getting worse to around 50% of drives, similar symptoms to you. Turns out the 3 relays (in the frunk, drivers side (assuming rhd)) can get a little corroded. Cleaning the contacts helps a lot, but I ended up replacing the 2 main ABD/ABS relays (they're around 20 quid each) and haven't had a repeat of the incident since. I think I got the info from the 911uk forums.
Hope that's of some use.
