993 C2S Boot Lid cover

Hi All, noticed that my new 993 C2s 1996 is missing the black lattice grill cover that sits below the boot lid.
Any idea what this is for apart from keeping leaves and dirt out.. Is it a neccessity to get it replaced. ? It must be used for somthing although the car drives perfectly without it..

Loving the car pics will be posted soon...;-)

should of looked first but according to the PET its a ventilation cover part 99351233302. Looks like a probably need one.

Not sure exactly what you mean?
When you say "boot" do you mean the engine cover? So it's the grill you see if you look through the large grills of the spoiler?
If yes, then mine seem to catch leaves so I guess it's got a purpose. (And the leaves get well stuck and are difficult to get untangled).

Do you mean the cover that's under the boot lid at the top, near to the windscreen, under the wipers? If so, I can't understand why it should be missing, but you'll get one from a Porsche breakers. Ramus Porsche in West Bromwich seem to have every part for every model. Speak to Craig.

He means a second grill that sits on the underside of the spoiler. It about the same size as the grill on the top of the spoiler. It's a bit difficult to visualise without looking at the PET.

Ian.

yes thats the one. been quoted 20 quid for one second hand so not bad.. didnt realise it was missing untill I saw another c2s...;-) thanks for the info.
