can u tell me if a 993 c4 cabriolet is a pretty rare car these days? im thinking the 997s may be going next year so im thinking of the next purchase and hopefully next time i wont be losing anywhere as much cash!

tks maurice ill take a look now. your opinions on a c4 in cabrio form wud be much appreciated. spotted on during the week an loved it. wouldnt want a tip thou if honest

also i shud point out that i have a 997s coupe that ive been very impressed with for the last 2 yrs so any comparrison wud be helpfull...tks

also apart from the power difference can u explain the differences in the "varioram" engine and weather this makes it more desirable, more reliable and anything i shud be aware of...tks

If you are ever in the leicester area we have a late C4 manual you can have good nose around etc...
It basically hasn't been altered from its factory spec, with the exception of a set of Bilsteins fitted last year.. so will give you a good idea what to expect.

Adam.
PS our Cab came with 18" alloys straight from the factory

many tks for the replies gents.I have to say in comparrison to my 997 the 993 looks tiny in the flesh i thought. Adam, can i ask if u have had the car from new?? Very kind offer to take a look round it if im at your neck of the woods, may take u up on that one day. Do u have any picks of the car u wouldnt mind sharing? My interest is switching cars may be next year as i feel i need to get some value from my 997 i bought at the peak of the mkt!. is the 993 c4 wider at the back than the c2 in the same wa the 997s are?

In teh 993 series, other than teh turbos, only the C4S and the C2S variations had teh wider ass. and these only came in a coupe body style.
The only diference, other than teh obvious (4 wheel drive) between the C2 and C4 I know of, is the C4 has additional power/pressurised braking system. Im sure other will chip in on this..

thats a lovely colour combination and example i think. my 997 is artic silver and next car has to be dark in colour. how many miles has your care done? u had it long?

We've had the car about 4 years.. and its now just hit 80,000 miles....
Other than teh Battery, cam covers, shocks and soem of the small heater motors all of which are common issues... never had a problem...

Saying that never had an issue with any of the Porsches we've got.

sounds great. just me asking, but what would you value your car at if it were for sale? im tryimng to get a handle on valuations thats all

Difficult to value 993's these days.. I've seen bad coupe examples for sale low as £13,000 other in the high 20's

We paid £24 when we purchased the car.. if the time came to sell, I would hope to get about the same..

Anyway.. suns out so off to work in it now.. [:D]

Had the ABD (traction control) as standard, an LSD, the "clear lenses" too (white on the indicator covers to front/side and red to rear)
